Tell us about your childhood bedroom? My dad hired an architect to design our home. My bedroom walls were apple-green with built-in furniture.
What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? My first investment piece was a Murano vase bought from François Laffanour.
In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Ettore Sottsass.

Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how? Always. I've been wearing the same clothes and shoes for 40 years, I like clothes, not fashion.

What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it? Decoration.
If there were a fire, and you could only keep one design book, what would it be? Carlo Scarpa: Architecture and Design.
For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for? My Franck Bridge armchair.
