If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? My wife and I are currently designing our second home at Lake Martin in Alabama.

What are three words to describe your style? 1. Storied 2. Collected 3. Timeless

Tell us about your childhood bedroom? My childhood bedroom was filled with traditional brown furniture, plaid patterned drapery, denim bedding, and bookshelves filled with my collection of model cars.

What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house?  An original William Christenberry photograph of a warehouse building in Newbern, Alabama.

In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be?

  • Architect: Bobby McAlpine

  • Interiors: the lovechild of John Saladino and Christian Liaigre

No room is complete without: Antiques

People think of me as outgoing, but I am really shy

Things you omit from:

  • A flower arrangement: anything fussy or frilly

  • An hors d’oeuvre platter: anything healthy

  • A bar cabinet: cheap booze, life is too short for that

Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how? Yes, they are traditional and tailored with a modern sensibility.

Who is your star crush? Charlize Theron

What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it? Fully mirrored rooms – well, maybe I would do it. Stay tuned.
