Amanda Reynal
If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? Nantucket
What are three words to describe your style?
1. Layered
2. Inviting
3. Authentic
Tell us about your childhood bedroom? I loved my childhood bedroom more than anything. My mother covered every square inch of it in the same print: New York Mille Fleur by D. Porthault. The walls, dormers, headboards, bedspreads, curtains… were all the same fabric. The room had dormers over the windows and it had a charming fireplace in the corner.
What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? Soon after getting engaged, Mike and I bought a regency mahogany drop leaf table at an antique shop in New Canaan. We felt so grown up using it as a dining table in our little one bedroom NYC apartment.
In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Sister Parish

Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how? Absolutely, I rarely wear black and don’t design with much black either. I tend towards wearing colorful prints and happy colors in the warm weather and more tailored clothes in the winter. These philosophies and palate weigh heavily in my design vocabulary.
Who is your star crush? Jeremy Allen White (The Bear)
What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it?
Minimalism and all white everything.
If there were a fire, and you could only keep one design book, what would it be?
My very old copy of Interior Design and Decoration by Sherrill Whiton
