Jessie Schuster
If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? Amalfi or Saggaponack.
What are three words to describe your style?
1. Refined + Eclectic
2. Timeless
3. Unexpected/Quirky
Tell us about your childhood bedroom? It was a traditional bedroom with twin beds and upholstered headboards. I remember it being in the shades of teal. I also had an antique Victorian dresser that was washed in white and had intricate silver trim details and a hand-painted floral design.
What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? The first piece I purchased for myself was a 1950’s French caned buffet when I was in college. I was obsessed with it, still have it, and use it in one of my guest bedrooms.
In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be?
Jacques Grange!
No room is complete without a fabulous ceiling fixture.

If you were on an Ambien high and internet shopping, what would you buy? I tend to do this a lot... I shop for clothes usually on Netaporter, Matches Fashion, and Moda Operandi.
Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, and if so, how? Depends on my mood or the occasion… I tend to like to dress in a classic manner but with a little flair…
Who is your star crush? Bob Marley, Salvador Dali
What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it? Using multiple patterns in one room.
If there were a fire, and you could only keep one design book, what would it be? Entryways of Milan. I find endless architectural inspiration….
For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for? For being fresh, forward-thinking, timeless, and chic!
