Nathan Turner
If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? I do - in Ojai, because it reminds me of growing up in the country in Northern California.
What are three words to describe your style? Collected, layered, and comfortable.
Tell us about your childhood bedroom? Green toile... everywhere!
What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house? I always bought antiques - starting out with an antique store was just a justification to keep buying!
In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Bill Blass
No room is complete without good lighting.
People think of me as beachy, but I am really country.
Things you omit from:
A flower arrangement: those weird sticks people put in arrangements.
An hors d’oeuvre platter: anything with pits.
A bar cabinet: ugly cans or bottles.
If you were on an Ambien high and internet shopping, what would you buy? Kitchen gadgets.
Do your clothes reflect your design sensibility, if so, how? I have a uniform - I am much more adventurous with decorating.
What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it? Using all one color.
