If you could have a second home anywhere, where would you live? County Cork in the Republic of Ireland 

What are three words to describe your style? 1. Authentic 2. Sculptural 3. Obsessively detailed

Tell us about your childhood bedroom? Spartan and crowded ... my parents were minimalists and stuck my brothers and me on the third floor.

What’s the first investment piece you ever bought for your house?  A Federal Period Chimneypiece 

In the history of design, if you could hire any designer other than yourself, who would it be? Edwin Luytens ... pure genius

What is the thing you would never do on a project, but don’t detest when you see others do it?  Flat roofs

If there were a fire, and you could only keep one design book, what would it be? The Art of Designing and Working the Ornamental Parts of Buildings by Batty Langley

For posterity, what would you like your work to be known for? Beauty, individuality, craftsmanship, finely wrought details and a sense of humor
